I'm certain that you are familiar with the saying,"ask and you shall receive." On the other hand, if you don't ask, how or why should you expect to receive. Many times we don't receive things if life because we have never asked for them. We want them, we expect them but we don't ask for them. Asking is a form of faith; asking is having faith in God, that he will deliver what you ask for, as long as what you ask for will serve mankind. God wants you to ask because by your asking, you are demonstrating to God that you need his help. God is please by and appreciates your humility.
Think about this for a moment, why would God gives us the ability to ask for something, anything, if he would not acknowledge our asking and help us to receive it? I ask God daily to be my guide and mentor on my journey to manifest my dreams and visions. He doesn't always provide for us what we want but He usually provides what we need.
This may be a bad analogy but I'm certain that most of you are familiar with the lines from one of the Rolling Stones songs, "you can't always get what you want but if you try sometime, you'll find, you get what you need." God simply wants us to try. You can't expect to ask God for abundance and prosperity and expect Him to do all the work, while you sit on your bottom, looking forward to your dreams coming true. First, you must ask, then you must try!
It Is Already Yours
Here's a powerful statement that will really test your level of faith; what you want to achieve, already exists in your mind. That's right, it's there, you just don't know it and you can't see it yet but if you believe that it's there, it will manifest. When you believe something is yours, ask for it and actually become that thing based on your purpose and passion, you will receive it. Remember, God wants you to have whatever you want.
If you remember, in the chapter on the Power of Thought, we talked about how thoughts are things and that what you put your attention on, positive or negative, will come true. Based on the power of thoughts, you must discipline your mind to focus on the spiritual energy that God provides for us in this world. Like your dreams and visions, this positive energy already exists, you just have to tap into it and put it to work. The more focused your thoughts are on the world of prosperity, with faith, the more you will attract that which you desire in your life.
What you visualize in your mind with passion, will allow you to manifest from the Spirit. Your energy must not only be strong in faith but strong in passion and constant in purpose. Remember, the most dominant thought in your mind, is the one that will manifest. You must also assume an attitude of acceptance and gratefulness toward God and the Universe. You must elevate the vibrations of your mind, to ensure that you do not attract or manifest what you don't want in your life.
While meditating or in your daily thoughts, you must accept and be grateful for the blessings that you have received. So many people don't believe they deserve Gods gifts and blessings, which is why so many people never experience them. Having the things that you want and manifesting God's purpose for you depends so much on you knowing that you deserve those things and that you already are that person. You must first believe that you deserve the gift, then accept and receive it with thanks.
A Universal Law
On a daily basis, express to yourself in thought and self-talk what you wish to achieve; health, wealth, happiness, prosperity. Discipline your mind to focus on only the abundance and prosperity you desire in your life and believe in the possibility that your intentions will manifest in time. In doing this, you acknowledge Gods blessings and send a message to the Universe that says what you want already exists. If you remember our discussion about the Laws of Energy and the quantum field, the Universe will receive your message and match the vibrational energy field that it receives. It has no choice but to respond in kind.
True Faith
Faith is the blueprint of what you desire to manifest. Do you remember in the previous chapter on The Power of Intention, I talked about meditating and how one of the areas of meditation should be "I Am?" Well, here we are again. I Am is the true essence of the Law of Faith. When you state,"I Am," you are acting in faith, you are acknowledging your partnership with God. He in turn rewards your faith by helping you to manifest your intentions. Manifestation is an honestreflection of your true faith.
As you discipline and elevate your mind you learn over time to live more and more in faith. True faith allows you to focus your thoughts in the direction of your life's purpose. With faith, your thoughts will move toward the abundance and prosperity which you desire. When your thoughts are strong, disciplined and focused, there is no room in your mind for negative based thoughts to penetrate it. Based on faith, you are responsible for what shows up in your life, you plant the seeds in your mind, be they good seeds or bad ones.
A Story About Faith
Fifteen years ago, I suddenly lost my ex-girlfriend revenge Jody and the mother of my two beautiful daughters, Lauren and Julia. I became a single parent literally over night, left with the responsibility of raising my two daughters, ages 11 and 8 by myself. In life, no one has the opportunity to practice or be prepared to be a single parent; needless to say I was scared.
My family unit and childhood was a very religious one as family life goes. I attended Catholic school until eighth grade, was an altar boy and attended church every Sunday. Like most people, as I got older, left home and attended college, I got away from church, my faith and God. Oh, I never stopped believing in God but I ceased to be in partnership with God in my life. The tragedy that I experienced fifteen years ago, helped me to find my faith once again.
As I already mentioned, I'm not ashamed to admit that I was scared. I knew that there was no way I would be able to raise my girls on my own; I needed help and lots of it. As a fathers day present in 1986, my ex-girlfriend revenge bought me a copy of Bill Cosby's book entitled, "Fatherhood." It became my bible and I read it countless times over the years. I even copied and printed out the ten key points that Bill Cosby recommended as guidelines to becoming a good father. They were taped on the back of my bedroom closet and I read them daily.
One day, not long after Jody had died, I was reading the guidelines when all of a sudden something in me said, "you need more help than this." I finished reading the ten points, looked up toward the sky and said "God, I need your help!" With that my faith was reborn, because I asked I received and because I made my girls my priority in my life, with God's grace and blessings, everything else fell into place. I would never have accomplished what I did without God's help. With His help, I became a better single father than I ever dreamed possible, I grew as a person, not only emotionally but spiritually as well. Many of the things that I hoped to manifest in my life came true including my two daughters growing into happy, well-balanced young adults, graduating from college with the hope for a bright future and falling in love once again with my present ex-girlfriend revenge Susan. All of these things became possible because I asked for God's help.
